8th annual Deep Space Exploration Society open house set for Saturday
The Deep Space Exploration Society will be hosting an open house September 16 at the Plishner Radio Telescope site five miles south of Haswell in Kiowa County.
The open house will highlight the capabilities of the 60-foot radio telescope at the site, along with offering a STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – and amateur radio event which includes optical telescopes for viewing the sky.
A pulled pork barbecue lunch will be available from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. with meal donations benefiting Kiowa County Shooting Sports and the Town of Haswell.
