Eastern Colorado has seen wild weather this winter and spring that is commonly identified as the El Niño weather pattern. El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is an ocean-atmospheric phenomenon resulting in warmer water temperatures in the eastern Pacific Ocean off South America near Peru and Ecuador. This climate pattern typically occurs every three to seven years and may last a few months or a few years. Trade winds traditionally move warm water away from the coastline which allows the colder water to rise to the surface.

WHEREAS, pursuant to C.R.S. § 30-11-101, the Kiowa County Board of County Commissioners (Board) is empowered to adopt and enforce "resolutions regarding health, safety, and welfare issues as otherwise prescribed by law" within Kiowa County; and 

The Regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order on May 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Donald Oswald. Commissioner Robertson opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Kiowa County Hospital District Board met in regular session on April 25, 2023, at 6:31 p.m. at the Cobblestone Inn Meeting Room.

District Board members present were Pam Cole, Mary Eikner, Doug Uhland, Karl Eikenberg, and Matt Prince.
