Cecil “Harvey” Hollis
December 7, 1917 – February 12, 2021
Friday, February 12, 2021, Cecil “Harvey” Hollis loving husband, father, and grandad slipped peacefully from this earthly realm at the astonishing age of 103.
Harvey was born December 7, 1917, at the family farm 17 ½ miles southeast of Lamar to Cecil and Iola Ann (Stover) Hollis.
Virginia has enabled app-less COVID-19 exposure notification services for iPhone users, joining California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, Washington, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. A service celebrating Becky's life will be held Friday, February 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25 at Brown Funeral Home in Cheyenne Wells.
Private family interment will take place in the Brandon Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that one person was arrested earlier in February on felony drug charges.
According to information provided by KCSO, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive person in a vehicle on Highway 96 between Chivington and Brandon in eastern Kiowa County. At the scene, deputies found the woman, identified as Yadira Chavarria-Enriquez, incoherent and called for an ambulance while providing basic medical care until emergency medical services arrived.
