As the snow starts to accumulate in the mountains, snowmobilers are reminded to prepare their machines and safety equipment for winter, and to get their annual registration.
“Snowmobiling is great fun, but breaking down far from the parking lot can be dangerous,” said Josh Stoudt, trails coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife in Durango.
Across Colorado, farmers and ranchers are using best management practices to help keep nutrients out of lakes and streams and improve Colorado’s water quality. These forward-thinking producers believe the most effective way to reach agriculture and achieve the best results is through outreach and voluntary action. Their stories and resources are now available to help other producers care for Colorado’s waterways.
In the latest sweep of Colorado's The Heat is On campaign, CDOT, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and other law enforcement agencies collaborated to halt impaired drivers over Halloween weekend, resulting in the arrests of 375 drivers—an increase from 325 arrests during last year's fall campaign.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is asking the public for information about two bull elk found dead and abandoned about a half-mile from the summit of Cottonwood Pass, along County Road 306, Sunday, November 5.
