A former member of the Huerfano County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for alleged incidents of sexual assault occurring earlier this year and in the late 1990s.

Harley “Gene” Parker, 67 passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at his home in Garden City with his family surrounding him. He was born September 13, 1948 in Eads, Colorado the son of Oral and Margit (Olsen) Parker.

The Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program (CALP) is proud to host the 26th annual Governor's Forum on Colorado Agriculture, this year titled "Label it: Agriculture," and focusing on a future built by collaboration.

The event will take place February 22, 2017, at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver.

A middle school volley ball game has been added to the Eads School calendar for Tuesday, September 6.

Athletes will leave for McClave at 1:45 p.m., for varsity and junior varsity games set to begin at 3:00 p.m.

Thunderstorms remain in the outlook – particularly for Friday – into the early part of the week as temperatures rise.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected after 4:00 p.m. Friday, continuing into the early evening as a strong upper-level disturbance passes through the area. Winds could gust as high as 50 miles per hour, and small hail is possible. There is potential for one-tenth to one-quarter inch of rain, though amounts could be higher where storms do occur.

Labor Day festivities will be plentiful this weekend as Coloradans enjoy the last days of summer. Encouraging Coloradans to celebrate responsibly, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and statewide law agencies are continuing heightened DUI patrols through the travel-heavy holiday weekend. The Labor Day enforcement period began on Friday, Aug. 19, and runs through Tuesday, Sept. 6.
