We surely did receive some much needed moisture this past week.  I would always rather receive rain than snow.

Clinton and Wilma Evans, former Towner residents, will be celebrating their 68th Wedding Anniversary on January 30th.  Their address is Box 187 - Tonkowa, OK 74653 and I hope lots of people will send them a card

Susan Greenfield went to Sterling, CO this past Thursday to attend her Aunts funeral on Friday.  She spent the rest of the weekend with her dad, Norm.

There are family and friends with a lot of "cares" this week since we have lost four dear citizens from our community over the last week.

Certainly been having a mix of weather lately. Sure glad we didn't get the terrible winds they had up along I-25. The ice this morning wasn't pleasant, but we do need the moisture.

Our communities would like to extend their condolences to the family of Cora Coffman, who lost her sister Cathy, this past week. Cathy lived in Illinois, but grew up in the Sheridan Lake area.

Welcome to 2017.  Don't know where 2016 went, but it surely seemed to fly by fast.  Maybe it's because I'm getting old and slow! The weather has been really cold lately.  I hope most of you survived and didn't have frozen pipes.  We weren't so lucky at the Community Hall, and we're still waiting on a plumber to come fix the broken pipes.

Hopefully this week we will get everything taken care of.

"Happy New Year, Readers: Betty Shotton taught me one of my favorite songs, "Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us, for we need You to help us find our way"..."come to feed us...help us face another day".  Those words are my prayerful and hopeful prayer for 2017.

Lance and Taya Jagers took their children, Cassidy and Corbin, to the Arizona Annual Goat Show at the Arizona State Fair Grounds last week where they both place in the top four in the Show.

School is out for the holidays for most people.  This past week was filled with School and Church Christmas programs.  We also had the Christmas Holiday Basketball Tournament in Lamar, although the weather was pretty bad for people coming from a distance on Saturday morning.
