"This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:4

Congratulations of Heath and Jaylin Spady who were married at the Haswell Methodist Church Saturday, June 24, with family members attending. In the evening they hosted a reception at their ranch home with extended family and many friends coming to enjoy cake and refreshments in an outdoor decorated area. It was a pleasant evening to dance or visit while listening to the music of Dee-jay, Darwin Nelson.

The Eads Senior Citizens who came to the monthly lunch thoroughly enjoyed the beef brisket that Rod and Dana Brown donated to the group. Darryl Stolzenberger smoked the brisket for Gail to serve. She also made warm wheat rolls and baked cheese hash brown casserole. Joyce Berry gave us an update on the future Senior Center across the street which is now two vacant gutted brick buildings. She said that Cindy McCloud is working on some new grants.

Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he (she) should go, and when he/she is old, he/she will not depart from it."  I think these statements from the Patriot Post relate to this scripture. "Seven things every kid needs to hear: 1. I love you, 2. I am proud of you, 3. I am sorry, 4. I forgive you. 5. I am listening. 6. Communism has failed every time it was tried 7. You've got what it takes."

"Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam; where the deer and the Antelope play, where seldom is heard, a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day..." That melody popped into my head as Lola Igou was driving me to Colorado Springs as we saw more antelopes grazing and running in the blue green pastures.

Hi,

I am writing to all of you to inform you that I won't be writing any news articles over the summer.  If you want me back in the fall, I can probably handle it then.  If you can find someone to do it this summer and they want to continue with it, feel free to do that.

I have really enjoyed writing the article, but am feeling overwhelmed at this point and I have to cut back on some things.

Thank You,

Sharon

Ira Stamphill..... ' I've got a mansion just over the hill top, in that bright land where we'll never grow old; And some day yonder we will never more wander, but walk on streets that are purest gold." It is comforting for me and Carla Gifford when we remember that our dear friend, Glaida Belle (Peterson) Craven of Kit Carson has passed to Heaven, and that both of sets of our parents are having a joyful time together in that bright land.

This Eads High School Graduation seemed a little more special this year.  Maybe it was in part because of the wonderful prelude music played by pianist Leisha Peck and senior guitarist, Rhett Uhland, singing and playing his own composition, "Always Coming Home."  The speeches given by seniors: the welcoming by Chance Fowler, Salutatorian, Cameron Crow, Valedictorian, Fred Turner, and the farewell by Micah Crawford were delivered clearly.

Congratulations to Mikayla Schmidt on graduating from FHSU on May 13th.  Mikayla is living in the area and is working at the TBK Bank in Tribune, KS.

Weekend before last, Connie Weber was down to visit with her parents, Denis and Theresa Weber.  All of them attended the graduation at Plainview School on Sunday and the parties that were held after graduation.

In May, many teachers, families, and some friends of the school have attended three big banquets, a Kindergarten graduation, and the wonderful spring concert. The Academic-Athletic Awards banquet was especially outstanding where every teacher and head coach acknowledged high grade point students in their classes and the coaches related highlights of the sports year.
