For the week ending January 1, 2023, topsoil moisture supplies rated 43 percent very short, 26 percent short, 29 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 47 percent very short, 34 percent short, 18 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.
Field Crops Report: Winter wheat condition rated 23 percent very poor, 26 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 17 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
