All Things Plainview – December 24, 2023
The cultural and cuisine classes went on a fieldtrip to Colorado Springs December 13, where they ate at Greek restaurant and went to the World War II Aviation Museum.
The elementary enrichment program was cancelled for Friday because of the weather, roads, and illness. The fun will resume when we come back in January 2024.
The high school knowledge team will have competition in Kit Carson, Eads, and Springfield when we return in January. The junior high knowledge team will have their first meet of 2024 in Vilas the first Friday in February.
This past week was Christmas spirit week with dress up days: Monday-crazy hat/sock day, Tuesday-ugly sweater day, Wednesday-red, green, and white day, and Thursday-pajama day.
Tuesday, the staff had its annual Christmas part/meal at the Towner Hall.
Wednesday, the students and staff opened presents from their secret Santas.
Thursday, the students and staff finished up a few odds and ends, watched movies, and played games.
The evening of December 20, the elementary, high school, and middle school performed in a holiday extravaganza directed by Cheri Hopkins. The songs included “Jingle Bells,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “All I want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,” “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” When Christmas Comes to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” Christmas Don’t Be Late,” “Feliz Navidad,” and “Silent.”
All the students and staff are looking forward to Christmas break to spend time with family and friends and to recharge for the second half of the school year.
