The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board ofTrustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Tuesday January 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Zoom meeting. Town Clerk, Robin Fox, took roll call:

• Trustees - Present - Dennis Pearson, Kathy McCracken, Karl Eikenberg, and Meghan Buck 
• Absent - Terry Riley and Justin McLoud 
• Town Clerk- Robin Fox -Present 
• Assistant Clerk- Barbara Scranton-Present 
• Director of Public Works- Van Brown- Present 
• Town Attorney- Lance Clark - Present 
• Guests Present - Brent Frazee

Minutes- Meghan Buck motioned to approve the minutes as presented. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Approval of Bills-The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Kathy McCracken motioned to approve payment of the bills {$24,058.74 Water, $11,839.18 Utility, $34,072.50 General, $150.44 Conservation, $58.14 Airport: $70,179.00 Total). Karl Eikenberg  seconded, motion passed unanimously.

New Business: 

Water and Sewer rate increase -Town Clerk, Robin Fox, informed the Board of Trustees that it has been 2 years since the last rate increase for Water, Sewer, and Trash Services. Kathy McCracken motioned to increase water and sewer service rates 3% for 2021. Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Brent Frazee - Mr. Frazee introduced himself as the District Recovery Planner for Southern Colorado Economic Development District (SCEDD). SCEDD works with 13 counties, including Kiowa county. 

Employee Handbook - A revised employee handbook may be ready to present to the Board of Trustees at the February 9th meeting. 

Gobins -The contract with Gobins for the copy machine needs renewed. Kathy McCracken motioned to renew the contract. Karl Eikenberg seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

AirMed -The contract with AirMed for the residents of the Town of Eads is up for renewal. The cost of renewal is $2,777.00. The Town is locked in with the program. If not renewed, the Town will lose the ability to provide this benefit to the community forever. Karl Eikenberg motioned to renew the contract. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously.

Bring Up - Director of Public Works, Van Brown, requested the Board of Trustees approve an increase of wages for maintenance 1 and 2, $1.00 per hour. Dennis Pearson Motioned to approve the pay increase for both of the maintenance workers. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

GMS - Director of Public Works, Van Brown, informed the Board that after talking with GMS, the repairs on the Elevated Tank will cost an additional $4,000 because of the additional problems found. 

Adjournment- Kathy McCracken motioned to adjourn the meeting. Karl Eikenberg seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 5:40pm.
