Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has proclaimed January as Radon Action Month. Kiowa County Public Health is doing its part by making no-cost radon testing kits available.

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that is radioactive and has been linked to lung cancer. Over half of Colorado’s homes have radon levels exceeding federal standards. Radon can be found in all of Colorado’s counties.
