
Governor Polis Appoints James X. Quinn to the 18th Judicial District Court
Colorado Governor Jared Polis has appointed James X. Quinn to the 18th Judicial District Court. His appointment is to fill a new judgeship created pursuant to Senate Bill 25-024 and is effective July 1, 2025.
Quinn is a Magistrate in the 18th Judicial District, a position he has held since 2019. His docket consists of criminal matters. Previously, he was an Assistant Solicitor General (2016-2019), First Assistant Attorney General (2011-2019), and Senior Assistant Attorney General (1999-2011) in the Colorado Attorney General’s Office; Attorney at Campbell, Bohn & Leffert, LLC (1995-1999); Attorney at The Law Office of Martin J. Plank, P.C. (1994-1995); and Attorney at Montgomery, Little & McGrew, P.C. (1992-1994).
Quinn earned his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
Colorado’s 18th Judicial District covers Arapahoe County.
