Jobs Available Through Career Expo

Lamar Community College’s annual Career Expo will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 9:00am until noon in the LCC Wellness Center.  The Career Expo serves as part career exploration, part career fair for the community.  Lamar Community College students and community members are invited and encouraged to attend.

Nearly 50 businesses have confirmed their spaces at the Career Expo, with several promising current career openings that expo-goers can learn about and apply for.

Several organizations are in need of qualified individuals to fill positions in the health and medical field.  Lincoln Community Hospital is seeking Physical Therapist, RN’s, LPN’s, C.N.A.’s and a Commercial Insurance Biller.  The Bent County Correctional Facility has three Full-Time LPN positions available as well as a PRN-LPN position, and a PRN-RN position.  Kit Carson County Health Services District will have several positions listed at the Career Expo and Kiowa County Public Health is seeking a full-time About Families and Communities Engaged Services Coordinator.

NRG Energy, Inc. will also be attending the Career Expo.  This organization regularly has a variety of jobs available around the country.

These organizations and many more will be attending the Career Expo to share their field with attendees as well as looking for qualified individuals to help fill their own staff.  Individuals hoping to find their first career or wanting to make an occupational change should plan to attend.  There is no time like the present to get the information necessary to make a career change for the better.

Local businesses have willingly volunteered their time and expertise, so that all attendees to the expo have the opportunity to meet with a wide array of professionals who own, or are employed by, companies that offer careers in a wide range of sectors.  The expo will be broken down into six employment sectors: Business, Marketing, and Public Administration; Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy; STEM, Arts, Design and Information Technology; Skilled Trades and Technical Sciences; Health Science, Criminal Justice and Public Safety; and Hospitality, Human Services, and Education.
