,Kiowa County Clerk’s Office Notes & Happenings
Welcome to Fall Kiowa County, it’s been nice to be blessed with all the recent rain and beginning to see leaves changing. I wanted to do a quick update for everyone on the happenings in the Clerk’s Office. By now ballots have been sent out and should have arrived or be arriving in your mailboxes.
I urge everyone to research and submit their ballot by 7:00 PM on November 3, 2026. The drop box outside the courthouse is open 24 hours a day, we will happily accept your ballot in office during normal business hours as well!
With the election also comes the time to close our Driver License section of the office. We cannot process any driver license renewals beginning October 19 – November 3.
Beginning November 4, 2026, we can again open the driver license section. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your understanding during the election.
We have a motor vehicle update to make everyone aware of as well, during the Colorado legislature session, Senate Bill 26-141 was passed which changes the way the Keep Colorado Wild Pass (the Colorado State Parks Pass) is listed on ALL registered vehicles in Colorado. The change will default all vehicles to YES, requiring upon renewal or new purchase to “opt-out”. Our staff is aware of the change and will be asking upon yourrenewal in office if you would like to keep the parks pass. If you mail in your renewal, please make your checks out with your preference as you do now.
Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing everyone!
Adrienne Yates, Kiowa County Clerk & Recorder
