Kiowa County Sheriff Casey Sheridan has announced that Madison Kelley will be the recipient of this year’s County Sheriffs of Colorado scholarship award for Kiowa County.

CSOC offered 31 $500 scholarships this year to deserving high school and college students across the state to help fund their higher education expenses during the 2018-19 school year.

A committee made up of local citizens selects the winner for each county. Decisions are based on criteria such as leadership, merit, character, involvement, purpose and need. Applicants must be a full-time resident of the state and plan to attend a Colorado university, college or trade school.

Support for the program, now in its 39^thyear, is partially derived from contributions from individuals and businesses to the CSOC honorary membership fund. Anyone interested in supporting the scholarship program can contact County Sheriffs of Colorado at 720-344-2763 or visit coloradosheriffs.org
