More thunderstorms are possible for Kiowa County Tuesday, though with a lower expectation for severe storms.

High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Monday, reaching the mid-80s for most areas under mostly sunny skies.

There is a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms, increasing to a 30-40 percent chance Tuesday night. While less than 0.1 inches of rain is expected for most areas, thunderstorms could produce locally heavier amounts. Thunderstorms that do form could produce hail up to one inch in diameter as well as wind gusts to 60 miles per hour.

Light winds are expected throughout the day, starting from the west earlier in the day before shifting to the east in the afternoon.

Overnight, look for lows in the mid-50.

Wednesday is expected to bring increased chances of showers and late day thunderstorms. Temperatures are predicted to cool to the low 80s.

Elsewhere in Colorado, warmer temperatures and increased snow melt have prompted a flood warning for southeast Conejos County until Thursday morning. A flood advisory remains in effect for the Gunnison river above Grand Junction, and a new advisory has been issued for the Mancos River in Montezuma County for the week.
