NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION

OF TWO METEOROLOGICAL (MET) TOWERS IN KIOWA COUNTY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Orsted Onshore North America, LLC has petitioned the Board of County Commissioners of Kiowa County for approval of a conditional use permit for the proposed construction of two MET towers; one South of Haswell, Colorado, and another South of Arlington, Colorado. A public hearing will be held before the Kiowa County Board of County Commissioners at the date, time and location specified below: 

DATE AND TIME OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER’S HEARING: October 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. 

LOCATION OF HEARING: Basement Meeting Room of the Kiowa County Courthouse, 1305 Goff Street, Eads, Colorado. 

PURPOSE: The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to comment upon the requested approval of a conditional use permit for the construction of two new meteorological towers.  Installation is planned for the following locations;

A) 263’ MET Tower South of Arlington, Colorado on County Road K on a section of property owned by KCVN, LLC, less than 5 acres currently zoned as Agricultural.  Legal Description:   Section 14, Township 19 South, Range 52 West of the Sixth Principle Meridian

B) 197’ MET Tower South of Haswell, Colorado on County Road D on a section of property owned by Carroll D. and Barbara A. O’Neal Trusts, less than 5 acres currently zoned as Agricultural.  Legal Description: Section 19, Township 20 South, Range 49 West of the Sixth Principle Meridian

Any person in support of, or objecting to, the proposed Conditional Use Permit may appear at such date, time, and place indicated above to address the County Commissioners, or may send written comments to the Kiowa County Board of County Commissioners prior to the hearing at PO Box 100, Eads, CO  81036 or email kiowaco100@gmail.com.
