  • Electrical and wire for the computers and telephones is nearing completion. The move into the new USDA building is scheduled for November 18-20.

  • Mike Beeson, head of Eagle Television Inc, stated the company had reorganized and will provide cable TV and high speed internet to Eads in the near future.

40 Years Ago - November 2 , 1984

  • Sheridan Lake Ripples- Elsie E. White: Twelve Hobby Club women had fun making red, blue, and yellow flowers with dough at Mrs. Lonnie Rice home in Brandon.
  • Towner Tales- Sharon Goode: The milo crop around Towner is hurting badly due to the snow, wind, and rain we had recently. Several fields of milo is 100 percent on the ground.

50 Years Ago - November 1, 1974

  • Kiowa County has requested $20,193 to be used for the construction of a multi-purpose building to be located at the fairgrounds.

100 Years Ago - 1924

  • Brandon Notes: Both restaurants raised their prices 50 cents.
  • Editorial: 25 cars of pickles were marketed from Crowley County this year, to say nothing of the hundreds of candidates who will be canned just after the election returns are announced
