- Colorado Division of Wildlife will host a Watchable Wildlife Class focused on birds.
- USDA Update- Rod Johnson: Fall harvest is under way with millet, corn, and sunflowers coming out first.

- A large contingent from the Eads senior class was present at the RE-1 School board meeting to discuss the requirement that the graduation caps and gowns to be school colors.
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: Well, the Rockies came to play their last game of the season. The Bronco’s should have gone fishing.
40 Years Ago - October 4, 1985
- A public hearing was held concerning the intent of Kiowa County to impose a mill levy of 25.70 for property tax year of 1985.
50 Years Ago - October 3, 1975
- The Postal Service was considering closing 12,000 rural post offices in order to make up a deficit. There were no Kiowa County post offices on the list.
- Wheat was taken from a 3,400 bushel grain bin located eight miles west of Sheridan Lake.
75 Years Ago - October 6,1950
- A building was moved from Lake Center to be used as a wood shop at the school.
