• Last week, there were many people smiling at the gas pumps. Fuel had dropped seven cents.

February 16, 1973

• Sheriff Kelley reported, after a high speed chase starting at the south edge of Eads, the vehicle was recovered about seven miles north of Eads. The car was stolen in Boulder and had Kansas plates on when recovered.

• The Hines Cash Grocery was purchased this past week by W.W. Schroggen from Farell Hines. Mr. Schroggen comes here with his family from Olney Springs where he has been in business for some time.
