The United States Geological Survey has recorded a second earthquake in less than a day in Alamosa County near the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.

The quake occurred Thursday morning just after 8:30 at a depth of about three miles. It was centered 64 miles southwest of Pueblo and registered 3.6 on the Richter Scale.

An earthquake that occurred Wednesday night registered 3.8 and was located further west into the San Luis Valley.

The USGS says 15 people have reported feeling the quake, which occurred in a rugged, remote area near the Alamosa-Huerfano county line in the San Isabel National Forest.

No reports of injuries or damage have been received.
