Town of Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - January 8, 2019

The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 5:07 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox, Town Clerk, took roll call:

Mayor – Joe D. Shields- present

Trustees – Present –Kathy McCracken, Terry Riley, Dennis Pearson, and Lisa Trigilio

Absent – Justin McLoud

Town Clerk- Robin Fox –Present

Assistant Clerk- Shealynn McCracken-Present

Director of Public Works- Van Brown- Present

Audiences/Public Comment Period

Minutes­- Kathy McCracken moved to approve the minutes as amended. Lisa Trigilio seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Terry Riley moved to approve the payment of the bills. Kathy McCracken seconded, motion passed unanimously.

New Business:

Trash Rate-The Town Clerk wanted to inform the board that there have been some complaints about the rate increase for the trash. The board discussed lowering the amount, but decided to leave the trash rate with a $6 increase. 

Cash Farm Lease- The Cash Farm Lease will be coming up in March. There has been ad’s posted in town as well as the paper. We will open the bids at the March meeting, but as of right now we have not received any bids. 

Sheriff Service Agreement- The board was presented with the 2019 Sheriff Service Agreement. Terry Riley moved to approve the agreement, Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

Bring Up Items- The Director of Public Works informed the board that he hired Trenton Rittgers for the open position. 

The Director of Public Works also informed the board that he was going out for bids to purchase a new public works pickup. He also wanted to know if the board would give him pre-approval if he did find a pickup. Dennis Pearson moved to give the Director of Public Works pre-approval to purchase a pickup, in the amount of $44,000. Terry Riley seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

The Director of Public Works also wanted to inform the board that he would not be present at the February meeting as he would be gone to a conference. 

Adjourn- Terry Riley moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:53 p.m. Lisa Trigilio seconded, motion passed unanimously.
