Town of Eads Board of Trustees meeting minutes - June 11, 2019
The Regular Meeting of the Town of Eads Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shields, Tuesday June 11, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Robin Fox, Town Clerk, took roll call:

Trustees – Present –Kathy McCracken, Terry Riley, Dennis Pearson, Justin McLoud, and Lisa Trigilio
Absent – Meghan Buck
Town Clerk- Robin Fox –Present
Assistant Clerk- Shealynn McCracken-Present
Director of Public Works- Van Brown- Present
Audiences/Public Comment Period
Minutes- Terry Riley moved to approve the minutes as amended. Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills – The finance committee reviewed the bills prior to the meeting. Kathy McCracken moved to approve payment of the bills. Dennis Pearson seconded, motion passed unanimously.

New Business:
Audit- Amanda Brown, the town auditor, presented the 2018 audit and her engagement letter for 2019 audit for 2020. Kathy McCracken moved to approve the engagement letter, Justin McLoud seconded motion passed unanimously. The board discussed moving some of Utility Fund cash to a CD. Dennis Pearson moved to put $400,000 of Utility Fund cash into a one year CD, Justin McLoud seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Trash- The board evaluated the landfill expense compared to the trash prices. The board agreed the price was acceptable.
Animal Permits- The Town Clerk presented one animal permit. Justin McLoud moved to approve the animal permit, Terry Riley seconded, motion passed unanimously.
Liquor Licenses- There were two liquor licenses up for renewal. The first liquor license was Hometown Gas and Grill. Terry Riley moved to approve the Hometown Gas and Grill, Lisa Trigilio seconded. A roll call vote was taken:

The second liquor license was Love’s Travel Stop. Terry Riley moved to approve Love’s Travel Stop liquor license, Justin McLoud seconded. A roll call vote was taken:

Pool-The Director of Public Works reported the issues with the swimming pool. He explained the swimming pool is running on its last leg and believes that it should not open next year. The board discussed looking into grants for constructing a new swimming pool. Justin McLoud volunteered to look into a grant.
Railroad Crossings- The Director of Public Works informed the board about the meeting he had with the new railroad owner and the state. He also wanted to inform the board that the railroad owner is going to try and get a waiver to not use railroad crossing arms and lights. If they do receive the waiver, the town will have 30 days to file a grievance. The reason they are for getting a waiver is because there will only be one train per day that will travel 10 mph through Eads.
