East End Events - July 23, 2019
Sorry about no news last week but we didn't get home until around 10:30 Sunday evening. I left Towner Friday and went to Pueblo to do a couple of errands and then on to Colorado Springs to meet up with our son, Craig, his wife, Laurie, and their son, Parker, and daughter, Mikyla. That evening we enjoyed supper with Tom and Chad; Jason and Kristen and children; Donna and Aunt Roberta and her, niece Laurie. Craig and family couldn't attend the family reunion as he had a 30th class reunion at Regis to attend on Saturday.
Saturday, around 35 Huddleston family members met at "On The Border" for lunch and visiting. That evening, around 50 family members attended the dinner at the Hotel Elegantéand had a great time visiting and reliving memories of the past. Sunday, I traveled to Denver, and Dick, Mark and Kyle came to Denver where we met up with Craig, Laurie and Mikyla and Tom and Chad and went to see the Rockies play baseball. It was a great day and the Rockies WON!!
Parker had flown out to GuatemalaSaturday to help build a home for Habitat for Humanity. He spent a week there and flew back home to New Jersey the following Sunday. Laurie and Mikyla flew home Monday, and Craig came to Towner for a couple of days before flying home Wednesday.
Mark and Kyle have been busy helping Kelvin and Amy Schmidt with the wheat harvest. They finished up Friday, and Mark went home to Winfield, Kansas, Sunday. Sounds like most of the wheat harvest is done and the yields were very good. Didn't hear of any accidents so that was good.
Susan Greenfield went to Sterling to visit her dad Tuesday. Wednesday, they went to the eye doctor in Colorado Springs. Friday, Susan went to her sister, Sami’s, and they attended an auction in Colorado Springs Saturday. Sunday morning, Susan and Sami attended the wedding of Kristen Arns and Jonathan Hitt.
Guests at the wedding of Kristen and Jonathan were lots of family members and friends. Friends from our area included Susan Greenfield and sister, Sami; Burl and Cathy Scherler; Jeremy and Christi Stulp; Larry and Barb Gitchel; Kelvin and Amy Schmidt; Howard and Shannon Votruba and Tom and Megan Pape. Congratulations to Jonathan and Kristen and best wishes for a blessed life together.
Last Wednesday, I went to Cheyenne Wells and visited with Cora Coffman for a couple hours.
Monte and Linda Stum met their daughter, Kami Janes, and family in Lamar for lunch Sunday. Monte and Linda had been having the grandchildren (one at a time) stay with them for a week, and Sunday was the last child's day to go back home. Special memories for everyone.
Rick and Kim Harris hosted a birthday pool party Saturday in honor of Abel Watts, who turned 2; Miles Frey, who turned 6 and Cassie Frey. Lots of family members enjoyed the day. Happy birthday Abel, Miles and Cassie!!
Have a great week!
