Kiowa County Public Library Summer Reading  July 12  for three weeks. It will be on Tuesdays and Thursday from 1:00 - 2:30. (July 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, & 28)  Summer Reading Early Registration will begin June 27 and go until July 8. If you register early you will receive a prize.

• Kiowa County Commissioners Meetings  -July 14---July 28   Open to the public 9:00am. Commissioners will recess 12 - 1 for lunch 4 day notice is preferred

• Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site (NHS) is recruiting for volunteers to assist staff with visitor services such as welcoming and orienting the public and presenting short interpretive programs. Volunteers will be trained to provide a variety of services, such as welcoming and orienting visitors to the park, providing area information, answering questions about the historic site, running a cash register, and, for those interested, planning and presenting a short talk on the Sand Creek Massacre.  Due to the remote location of the park, volunteers must provide their own transportation.
