One of the Weisbrod Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Home projects these past two years was to hang a different quilt each month for the enjoyment of the residents, staff and visitors. These quilts were made by various, very talented ladies and groups from different communities and elsewhere.
For the month of June, the Auxiliary wanted to honor the fathers and grandfathers for Father's Day.
Did you father ever wear a tie to work, church, dances, or on an evening out with his best "gal" - your Mother?
So, instead of a quilt, a display of 11 colorful and "fun" ties were hung thanks to Tim Weeks, Tom Davis and Glen Smith.
Voting for their favorite tie was done by residents, staff and visitors.
The results were:
- Tim Weeks -1stwith his patriotic worker/flag tie.
- Tom Davis -2ndwith his Christmas/Santa tie
- Glen Smith - 3rdwith his Hersey kisses tie
- Staff favorite was the 3 Stooges tie - Tim Weeks
The Auxiliary would like to thank these three fathers for the loan of their ties AND their wives too! --who do you think gathered up the ties??
Since this is an ongoing project we want and need your quilts!
The Auxiliary meets the second Tuesday each month at JJ's Restaurant at 11:00 a.m. Come have lunch with us and bring your quilt. Dues for active members are $5, and non active members are $10.
