Severe Storms, Large Hail Expected Thursday - Tornado Watch Issued

[Update 2] - The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch shortly after 12:00 p.m. that will be in effect until 7:00 p.m. for eastern Colorado counties, including Kiowa County.

[Updated] An upper closed low pressure system over Arizona moving into Colorado is expected to produce active weather over the eastern plains Thursday.

Kiowa County Hospital District Official Minutes for April 26, 2016

The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on April 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bank Meeting Room.

District Board members present were: Gary Aughenbaugh, Roland Sorensen (by phone), Robert Woods, John Negley and Cathryn Anderson.

County Board members present were: Sylvia Shields, Craig Kerfoot, Dennis Pearson, Kim Harris and Lori Shalberg.

Others present: Tristen Sheridan, Braylynn Eder, Dawn Back, Wendy McDowell, Char Korrell, Priscilla Waggoner, Shannon Dixon, Cindy McLoud, Kevin Siefkas. Tom Davis and Tammy McMillan.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne will visit Eads, Colorado and travel to Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site to see the future site of a National Park Service (NPS) facility and recognize the transfer of state-owned lands to the historic site.  Arriving in Eads at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, the governor will present remarks to the community and elected officials at the Murdock Building on Maine Street.
