Colorado Parks and Wildlife will award $600,000 to eight shooting and archery ranges across Colorado through the agency's Shooting and Range Development Grant Program (SRDG). The funds will go toward developing new places to shoot and upgrading existing ranges across the state.
Wednesday, October 12, nearly 40 high school freshmen representing three State FFA Districts from across the state came to the Lamar Community College campus to participate in a regional Creed Speaking competition.
Signs unlawful & unsafe
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is reminding supporters of candidates and issues that campaign signs are not permitted in the state’s right-of-way. In addition, placing real estate or other types of signs in state right of way is illegal.

Visitors here in the valley do a double take when they see Vince’s sign there at what we all know as “the gas station gun shop.” That’s because Vince doesn’t believe in being deprived of his passion while earning a living. His passion: guns. His living: pumping gas.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the coming week; however, highs will be above the previous week.
A high in the mid-80s is expected Saturday, with an overnight low near 40.
Sunday starts a week of clear, sunny days and highs in the mid-70s – above average for this time of year. Evening temperatures will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Thursday is the exception, with a high in the low 80s.
Rain is currently not expected during the week.
