Well, things are underway at Plainview. The junior high volleyball team scrimmaged against the high school students and community members Thursday, September 12. The junior and sophomore classes served super potatoes and super nachos to a hungry crowd.

Last weekend was the Kiowa County Fair, of course. Our junior high and high school students were responsible for the rodeo gate. The senior class sold honey; the junior and sophomore class sold beef sticks and cards. Both groups did well. If you are interested in honey or beef sticks/cards, contact Plainview School.

The students are also getting into their classes. Destiny Cornelius is taking an on-line forensic class. She had to set up a crime scene and do all those things forensic scientist would have to do.

My Spanish class learned the parts of the body, directions, and colors early on in the year. They had fun playing Twister—the Spanish version.

The junior high volleyball team traveled to Alta Vista on Tuesday, September 17.

The Board of Education of the Kiowa County School District RE-2 (Plainview) is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the Board of Education from the date of appointment in October 2024 until the next regular biennial school election in November 2025. To be eligible for appointment, each candidate must be a registered elector of the school district for at least twelve consecutive months prior to the date of appointment.

Any person who meets the qualifications and who desires to be considered for the appointment is invited to file a written notice of such intention with the superintendent by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 13997 County Road 71, Sheridan Lake, CO 81071. The Board will interview prospective candidates on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 6:00 pm at a public meeting.
