Chance for storms returns - Kiowa County weather forecast for July 16, 2019

The hot weather continues across Kiowa County, with another possibility for late-day storms in the forecast.

Temperatures Tuesday again return to the upper 90s, with far west Kiowa County potentially breaking 100. Overnight, lows in the mid-60s are expected.

Winds later today will generally out of the south up to 10 miles per hour. Haswell could see gusts to 15 mph.

Rain and thunderstorms are possible, but not likely, in the late afternoon up to 11:00 p.m. Chivington, Brandon and Sheridan Lake, have the greatest potential to see some rain.

After days of heat, an end may be in sight. Look for low 90s Sunday, and temperatures further falling to the upper 80s Monday. Highs will remain near 100 through Saturday.

Elsewhere in Colorado, the hot weather also continues. Northwest counties will be under a red flag warning for fire danger from noon Tuesday through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. A fire weather watch is in effect for southwest counties during the same timeframe.
