County Line Rival wrap up successful weekend of wrestling tournaments

The County Line Rivals had an outstanding weekend as they wrestled in Wiley Friday night for a Dual with Fowler, Boys Ranch, and Limon; and finished up in Holly for the Christmas Tournament against eight other teams getting a first place finish.  The Rivals scored 128.5 points to reach the top and Boys Ranch finished with 117.5 for second place.  

Here are the results from the tournament.

120 pounds – TATE KRENTZ won by technical fall over Gabriel Neugebauer from Holly, 15-0; won by technical fall over Drake Anguiano from Ulysses, 16-1; won by pin over Tony Miles, unattached in 0:38; and lost by decision at Briggs Winkle from Elizabeth, 5-3.  Krentz finished in 2nd place.

126 pounds – CHRIS SCRANTON lost by pin to J.D. Nelson in 0:38; lost by technical fall to Levi Hancock from Baca County, 15-0; lost by pin to Jobe Taylor from Elizabeth in 2:34; and lost by pin to Brayden Hancock from Baca County in 2:14.  Scranton was unable to place.

132 pounds – JONATHAN BURBANK won by pin over Samuel Adams from County Line Rival unattached in 3:33; won by decision over Conner Evans from Elizabeth, 6-4; lost by pin to Austin Crum from Holly in 0:43; won by pin over Jayden Peavy from unattached in 2:24; won by technical fall over Enrique Rodgers from Baca County, 18-3.  Burbank finished the day in 2nd place.

132 pounds – SAMUEL ADAMS, unattached lost by pin to Jonathan Burbank from County Line Rivals in 3:33; lost by pin to Austin Crum from Holly in 0:45; lost by pin to Enrique Rodgers from Baca County in 3:12; lost by pin to Conner Evans from Elizabeth in 5:30; and won by pin over Jayden Peavy unattached in 1:35.  Samuel was the 5th place finisher for the day.

138 pounds – AIDEN MICHAEL won by pin over Payton Walk from Tribune Greeley County in 0:08; won by pin over Ryan Connelly from Elizabeth in 3:20; and won by pin over Devon Gray from Boys Ranch in 3:48. Michael was the tournament champion at 138 pounds.

145 pounds – SAM WOLLERT won by pin over Pol Poca from Ulysses in 4:46; won by pin over Michael Lehman from Tribune Greeley County in 0:37; won by pin over Jessie Thompson from Elizabeth in 1:30; and won by pin over Ethan Stephens from Boys Ranch in 0:25. Wollert was the tournament champion at 145 pounds.

152 pounds – CADE ZORDEL won by pin over Dylan Jones from Boys Ranch in 0:45; won by pin over Juan Pau Segovia from Ulysses in 1:33; won by pin over Christopher Torres from County Line Rivals unattached in 1:51; and lost by pin to Ethan Burns from Holly in 3:30. Zordel was the 2nd place finisher for the 152-pound bracket.

152 pounds – CHRISTOPHER TORREZ, County Line Rivals unattached, won by pin over Juan Pau Segovia from Ulysses in 3:39; lost by pin to Ethan Burns from Holly in 1:00; won by pin over Dylan Jones from Boys Ranch in 1:48; and lost by pin to Cade Zordel from County Line Rivals in 1:51. Torrez was the 3rd place finisher for the day.

170 pounds – A.J. WILK won by pin over Kyler Smith from Tribune Greeley County in 1:17; won by pin over Aaron Fierro from Ulysses in 3:34; and lost by decision to Grayden Flint from Holly, 5-2.  A.J. was the 2ndplace finisher in the 170-pound weight bracket.

195 pounds – DAWSON ROESCH won by pin over Adolfo Mendoza from Ulysses in 1:52 and won by pin over Al Abdelaziz from Boys Ranch in 0:31. Roesch was the 195-pound tournament champion.

220 pounds – JAYCE BAUER won by pin over Isaiah Harding from Boys Ranch in 1:37; won by pin over Devon Monden, unattached, in 0:51; and won by pin over Angel Hernandez from Lakin in 1:59.  Bauer was the tournament champion.

285 pounds – CHASE STOLZENBERGER lost by pin to Cole Witte from Boys Ranch unattached in 1:28; lost by pin to Garrett Herzog from Boys Ranch in 0:31; lost by pin to Domanick Miller from Lakin in 1:15; won by pin over Bryce Wiginton from Boys Ranch unattached in 1:01; and lost by pin to Domanick Miller from Lakin in 0:16. Stolzenberger was unable to place for the day.

Results from the Wiley Quad are as follows:

Tate Krentz won by pin over Tony Miles from Boys Ranch in 1:59; lost by pin to Ky Bandy from Limon in 5:10.

Chris Scranton lost by pin to Cutler Hampton from Fowler in 3:14.

Jonathan Burbank lost by technical fall to Devon Gray from Boys Ranch, 16-0, in 4:26; won by pin over JD Nelson from Boys Ranch in 5:40.

Samuel Adams won by pin over Ashton Cash from Fowler in 1:14; lost by pin to Parmer Ashton from Limon in 5:59.

Aiden Michael won by decision over Ethan Stephens from Boys Ranch, 12-6; won by pin over Devon Gray from Boys Ranch in 4:27.

Christopher Torrez lost by decision to Robert Roe from Fowler, 8-6; lost by pin to David Salazar from Fowler in 3:25.

Sam Wollert won by pin over Gaige Hilferty from Limon in 5:36; won by pin over Dylan Jones from Boys Ranch in 1:20.

Cade Zordel lost by pin to Giani Anderson from Boys Ranch in 1:01; lost by decision to Brayden Tacha from Limon, 4-3.

A.J. Wilk won by pin over J.W. Powell from Boys Ranch in 1:59; won by decision over Orin Carnes from Fowler, 3-2;

Dawson Roesch won by pin over Al Abdelaziz from Boys Ranch in 1:52; won by pin over Tristan Vega from Boys Ranch in 5:15.

Jayce Bauer won by pin over Garrett Herzog from Boys Ranch in 1:51; won by pin over Isiah Harding from Boys Ranch in 0:45.

Chase Stolzenberger won by pin over Bryce Wiginton from Boys Ranch in 1:35; won by pin over Devon Mondon from Boys Ranch in 0:51.

The Rivals are off until the first of the year then they will start back up and compete in the Rocky Ford Tri Meet January 10, and follow up Saturday at the Savage Invitational in Lamar.  Go Rivals!
