Small earthquake near Gypsum Tuesday

A small earthquake was recorded near Gypsum in Eagle County Tuesday morning.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake struck at 5:31 a.m., and registered 2.7 of the Richter Scale. It was centered about 1.5 miles south of the Eagle County Regional Airport and occurred about three miles beneath the surface.

No damage or injuries have been reported; however, 104 people had reported feeling the quake as of 11:00 a.m.

Last week, two earthquakes measuring 3.8 and 3.1 on the Richter Scale were recorded along the Colorado-New Mexico Border.
