The Kiowa County Coroner’s Office has concluded that the two women who were found dead in Kiowa County in September, Linda Lee Estrada, 44, and Amy Ford, 39, both died as the result of multiple blunt force injuries.

The women had been reported missing September 11 from Emporia, Kansas. Emporia Police Department officers began an investigation, and tracked them to Colorado. Investigators traveled to eastern Colorado September 18, before the women were found dead September 20.

It was determined that both the autopsy findings and the investigation by the coroner’s office are consistent with their deaths being the result of the actions of another person(s), therefore these deaths have both been ruled to have been a homicide.  

Both victims were pronounced dead September 20, 2023, at 4:15 p.m. by Kiowa County Coroner Jimmy R. Brown.
