FSA and NRCS offices are back on regular office hours Monday- Friday 8:00 - 4:30. FSA does ask that producer limit visiting the office on Friday's as the office is short staffed on Friday's. The office does not require an appointment Monday - Thursday.

As many of our readers are aware; the Kiowa County Press will not be publishing a weekly paper any longer. The paper will be available online at www.kiowacountypress.com and the office will continue to supply an article to them.
Rod Johnson started writing the USDA UPDATE article many years ago when Paul & Pearl Daniels owned the Press and it has always been FREE of charge for FSA to publish the UPDATE. That is not the 'norm' with all newspapers. It has become a valuable resource over the years; FSA and NRCS offices appreciate the support the employees at the Press always showed to us. From the extended deadline; to the friendly phone call reminders; to the email problems and if Rod was still with us; the stories he could share. I can still see Rod sitting at his desk writing his article and then hand delivering the article to the Press Office; as that was long before the days of fax machines and email; a much simpler time.
ARC-IC PAYMENTS
The office is in the final process of completing the required paperwork for the 2014 ARC-IC payments. There are only a handful of producers that elected the ARC-IC program in Kiowa County. ARC-IC is the individual farm coverage. Producers had the choice of ARC-CO, PLC or ARC-IC during the election process last year.
