Kiowa County moved back to LOW Community level by the CDC.

Recommended actions based on current level include

  • Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. 
  • Get tested if you have symptoms.  

You may choose to wear a mask at any time as an additional precaution to protect yourself and others.

Obituary – Theresa Schreivogel

Theresa Schreivogel

August 1, 1926 - June 13, 2022

Theresa Beulah Sponsel was born to James Robert and Bessie Grace Sponsel August 1, 1926, in Cheyenne Wells. She was the second youngest of eight children. 

She attended Sacred Heart School, and graduated from Cheyenne Wells High School in 1945. 

Theresa Sponsel married Ed Schreivogel March 29,1948 and made a life for her family in Kit Carson. 

Kiowa County Commissioners meeting minutes - June 9, 2022

The Regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order on June 9, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Donald Oswald. Oswald opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
