Mosquitoes do seem to be evolving defenses against what have been some of humanity’s most effective insecticides.

Ervin Mitchek was born on a farm in Cheyenne County November 22, 1936, to Charles J. and Martha Mitchek. 

Ervin went to country school in first and second grade, and later lived in town and attended school through eighth grade, graduating from Cheyenne Wells Junior High in 1950.  

Marguerite Quackenbush (aka Marge or Margie) passed away January 17, 2023, at Keefe Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne Wells. Marguerite was born August 21, 1930, in Fairmount, Illinois. She was 92 years young.

Duane Herman Lundy, a long time Bristol resident, was born November 2, 1926, in Carter, Oklahoma, to Herman and Clara Lundy, and passed away January 20, 2023, at Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center in Walsenburg at age 96.
