The Eads Chamber of Commerce announce that the 2023 Volunteers of the Year are members of the Kiowa County Fire District. The announcement was made at the Kiowa County Economic Development Foundation annual meeting. 

Chamber President Dennis Pearson presented the engraved plaque for the group to the Kiowa County Fire Protection District Chief, Russ Watson. 

Charles “Charlie” Rapp, of Browerville, Minnesota, passed away May 23, 2023, at his home. Memorial Services were held June 7, 2023, at Verndale Family Life Church in Verndale, Minnesota.

Charles Edward Rapp was born October 2, 1957, in Greeley to Stanton and Erma (Dunning) Rapp.

John Lewis Branom Jr. passed away May 25, 2023, at the age of 89. John was born October 20, 1933, to Dalphine and John Branom in Wiley. John married Judy Delwolf October 22, 1956, in Raton, New Mexico.

Barbara Beth Karczewski, 87, of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away June 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Linden Grove in Mukwonago, Wisconsin.  

Barbara was born in Kit Carson June 22, 1935, to the late Edward and Lucille (nee Noble) Martin. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends!
