Rangers at Lake Pueblo State Park respond to call of a capsized boat near north picnic area

At 7:37 p.m. Sunday, May 29, Colorado Parks and Wildlife rangers at Lake Pueblo State Park responded to a call of a capsized boat near the park’s North Picnic Area. 

Witnesses reported 13 people (eight juveniles and five adults) were onboard a small boat in high winds when the boat capsized. 

When CPW Rangers arrived in a patrol boat, all 13 were in the 60-degree water. Rangers rescued eight juveniles and three adults. 

Rangers also recovered the remains of one adult. Rangers also launched an immediate search for another adult missing from the boat.

Lamar Community College welcomes the public to "Explore Renewable Energy Technologies Day"

Lamar Community College's (LCC) will hold Explore Renewable Energy Technologies Day 

Thursday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This will be a full day of hands-on activities and quick trips to explore training and careers in both wind and solar generation. 

The event will be held at the LCC Career & Technical Education (CTE) Building, 2401 S Main Street, in Lamar, and is open to anyone interested in looking into training and careers in renewable energy technologies.
