Trade group estimates ski industry lost $2B because of COVID-19
(The Center Square) – The ski industry has taken an estimated $2 billion hit because of shutdowns stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a trade group.
The Colorado-based National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) said U.S. ski visit totals for the 2019-20 season were down 14 percent to 51.1 million visitors.
The association’s $2 billion estimation “was derived from NSAA’s historical revenue and visitation data.”

The number of cattle and calves on feed for the slaughter market in Colorado feedlots with a capacity of 1,000 head or larger was estimated at 1,010,000 head as of June 1, 2020. This latest inventory is 6 percent above last month’s inventory but 5 percent below the June 1, 2019 inventory.
Cattle feeders with 1,000 head or larger capacity marketed an estimated 140,000 head of fed cattle during May 2020, 17 percent above last month but 7 percent below the May 2019 marketings.

Anna Lea Vagher, affectionately known as Ann, was born April 2, 1931 at Holly to John Marma and Lola Mae (Greene) Shields, and passed away June 10, 2020, at her home in Bristol with her family by her side at the age of 89.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Mick” Vagher, granddaughter, Trish Schomaker and her son-in-law, Robert Jensen.
