A lighting sparked fire charred 30 acres at the Jesse James Ranch. Volunteers from both Cheyenne and Kiowa counties responded to the fire, located near the county line.

Legislation makes targeted killing of police a hate crime
Congressman Ken Buck has introduced H.R. 4760, the Blue Lives Matter Act of 2016. This legislation extends greater protections to police officers by expanding the federal hate crime statute to include law enforcement.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper today (Tuesday, March 22, 2016) ordered flags be flown at half-staff on all public buildings statewide beginning immediately until sunset, Saturday, March 26, 2016, and as proclaimed by President Barack Obama.
