The agency says waiting until just before the application deadline, midnight, April 3, could pose challenges for hunters due to staff availability and support. Getting in early will ensure successfully completing and submitting an application.

James Warner Wimp, 86, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away March 22, 2018. He is survived by his children Marilyn (Tom) Larsen, James (Emily) Wimp, and Steven (Tami) Wimp.
Jim previously lived in Eads, Colorado, until he started working for Woodward Governor Company. He then lived in Fort Collins, Colorado, Rockford, Illinois, and Sydney, NSW, Australia, while in their employment.
Portions of western Colorado saw some improvement in drought conditions while the south-central part of the state saw further expansion of extreme drought conditions over the past week.
Kiowa County Sheriff Casey Sheridan announced Thursday that a prisoner transport van had been donated to his agency earlier in the month.
The van was donated by Prowers County Sheriff Sam Zordel.
Sheridan said he was “sincerely grateful to Sheriff Zordel for this generous donation.”
