Well, the bears are out now and will be until late fall, so maybe a bear tip might be in order. As a guide and outfitter emeritus – and emeritus is Latin for “I’m too danged old to pack moose meat out on my back” I’ll talk a bit about ol’ ursus.

If you’re in dangerous bear country, some people tell you to wear a little bell that tinkles, and the bear hears this and says, “Oh, that must be a person, and I’ll bet it’s a nice person, too, so I’ll just amble off this way.”

Be Safe When Using Social Media

Social media sites like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook are prime platforms for scammers to promote get rich quick schemes to unsuspecting victims.  Posts promoting “money flipping” are showing up more often in consumer’s newsfeeds. Usually the post contains a photo of cash and the caption boasts of how easily a small amount can be “flipped” into a large amount.  The profile of the poster seems legitimate including photos, followers and even thank you messages from other “investors”.

Kiowa County School Sports Physicals Offered

Parents of Student Athletes,

This year, Eads High School will be partnering with Weisbrod Memorial Hospital’s Rehabilitation department to offer free movement screening to all the school’s student athletes on school grounds.  As such, the movement screen will no longer be a component of the comprehensive pre-participation physical offered at the Eads medical clinic.

Upcoming Colorado Corn District Meetings Set

Colorado Corn staff and board members encourage corn producers and all others interested to join the Colorado Corn Administrative Committee (CCAC) and the Colorado Corn Growers Association (CCGA) for our upcoming district meetings, which will feature updates on the activities of the two organizations, as well as discussions about the next farm bill.
