A 2013 report indicated that 38 percent of smartphone users have been victims of cybercrime. This rate is expected to grow with mobile threats on the rise. Many folks will spend the Memorial Day weekend taking a road trip, having their first picnic of the season or enjoying that first dip in the lake or pool. Follow these American Red Cross tips to stay safe and relish all the long holiday weekend offers.
DRIVING SAFETY
Death rates from Alzheimer’s disease (AD) increased 55 percent between 1999 and 2014, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. The number of Alzheimer’s deaths at home also increased during the same period, from 14 percent to 25 percent, suggesting an increase in the number of caregivers that would benefit from support, including education and case management services.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has authorized an emergency fish salvage at Trujillo Meadows Reservoir located west of Antonito in Conejos County starting May 27. The salvage order removes all size, possession and bag limits for all species of fish.
The reservoir will be drawn down through the summer to accommodate dam repair. That work will start this fall. The reservoir is north of Cumbres Pass and Colo. Hwy 17 on U.S. Forest Service Road 118.
