The saying goes that, “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure!” The same can be said for weeds and grazing managers. Here is a “duh” statement: Weeds are plants and grazing animals eat plants!

Colorado weather is known for rapid changes, and the transition from Sunday to Monday is no exception across the state. Now is the time to prepare for what could be the first notable storm of the season for eastern Colorado.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has been receiving reports of phone calls from a person posing as a CBI agent who demands payment of fines to avoid arrest.

The scammer is using the name of an actual CBI employee. The calls have occurred numerous times over recent weeks.

CBI says it would never call people threatening arrest for unpaid debts, fines, or other fees, and advises anyone who receives a similar call to hang up without responding.

When Florencio Ortiz sent off for that new slicker, everyone in town and out at the ranch knew about it. He described in detail how waterproof it was and how a cowboy just couldn't possibly get wet with this slicker on.

Then it came, and Florencio tied it behind the cantle of his saddle each day. And  Florencio looked to the sky for any sign of a cloud, and then patted that slicker affectionately.

"If it rains today," he'd say, "I'm ready. Did you know this slicker keeps the saddle dry, too?"
