R. B. Philbert Smith was born December 21, 1930 to Philbert and Martha (Taylor) Smith at Hale, CO and died September 28, 2016 at the nursing home in Julesburg.
He was the youngest of 4 children. He grew up in the Hale area and attended Happy Hollow School through the 6th grade and later completed his GED.

Weekend Weather Outlook: Warm and Mostly Dry

Cooler days and evenings over the past week will be giving way to mostly warmer temperatures this weekend.
Friday will remain in the mid-60s, with an overnight low in the mid-30s. The warm up begins Saturday with a return of mid-70s and overnight lows in the mid-40s. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening.
Monday and Tuesday will see a return to the low 80s before a dip to the mid-70s Wednesday. Showers will be possible in the early morning hours Wednesday.
High temperatures will return to near 80 Thursday.
