An employee of the Spring Creek Youth Services Center in Colorado Springs has been arrested on the charge of assault in the second degree, a class four felony, and child abuse, a class one misdemeanor. That employee, Dean Hawkinson, has been placed on administrative leave. 

Bent's Fort Chapter

The February 11th meeting of the Bent's Fort Chapter will also include the chapter's popular "book exchange". Everyone is invited to bring books that he would like to lend, give away, or recommend. Tables will be set up in the main meeting room to display the books. Anyone who loans books is responsible for keeping track of them. Award winning Artist Lillian Penn, known to most as “Lil,” is displaying some of her works at the Eads Town Hall.

Lil has won numerous awards for her paintings throughout Colorado.  She says she inherited the talent from her mother. In turn, Lil has passed that talent to her daughters.
