A service is planned for Don at 11:00 a.m. August 12, 2023, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Illinois. There will be a private entombment at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.

The first Monday in August has found Kiowa County and many others experiencing a strange summer. The weather has blessed much of the area with much needed rains that slowed down wheat harvest which finally wrapped up at the end of July. 

For the 4-H members in Kiowa County, August 7 found members and supporters filling the senior center in Eads with their completed projects. These members should be proud of the hard work and determination that it took for them to earn their placing. 

Suicide deaths declined in 2019 and 2020 before increasing.
