- A former Lamar resident Kenneth Eichler recently had his third children’s book published
- Wild Horse Roundup- Curtis Schrimp: It was the annual summer’s end party at the Ernie Hammer Ranch. They reported around 75, including old friends from Hanover.
25 Years Ago - September 24, 1999
- The Eads varsity golf team came home with another first place trophy from the Rocky Ford tournament. They have won 4 of the 5 tournaments they have completed in.
40 Years Ago - September 28, 1984
- Bradley Hopkins of Eads won the “Worm Naming” contest. Bradley named the worm “Brandon Slitherbody.”
- The Eads graduating class of 1934 held their 50th year reunion. Ten members out of 23 were present. Only three live in the vicinity of Eads.
50 Years Ago - September 27, 1974
- After the recent resignation of Undersheriff Ted Cameron, Kiowa County Sheriff Eugene Kelley has decided to become a write-in candidate for sheriff.
75 Years Ago - September, 1949
- Lois Ann Fox carried off high honors in piano at the competitive festival held by the Mozart Club in Syracuse, Kansas. Miss Fox is from Towner.
100 Years Ago - September, 1924
- It has been suggested that a public reception be held and inspection made of the new sidewalk that has been provided for pedestrians between the Rialto Hotel and Sunday Garage. George Maycumber, with his rod machine, did all of the work in about 20 minutes.
