- The monthly card party was held in Wild Horse with a good turnout. We had prizes of baked goodies to give.
- USDA entered into an agreement with IRS to review producer’s certifications of Adjusted Gross Income for program eligibility.

- Without increased cooperation of Kiowa County residents, both Kiowa County landfills could face closure by state officials.
40 Years Ago - January 18, 1985
- All vehicle owners, upon receipt of their vehicle registration, will now be required to sign affirmation stating they have automobile insurance.
- The Kiowa County Jamboree has made a generous donation to the Statue of Liberty Fund.
50 Years Ago - January 17, 1975
- Search for a community doctor is at a standstill and Weisbrod Hospital closing its doors may become a possibility.
- There is presently an attempt to establish an emergency service organization for the community.
- Eads Town Council members agreed the city should pay for use of the jail, not the jailer salary.
75 Years Ago – January 20, 1950
- B.W. Fischer has commenced work on a new 6-unit motel in the south part of town, complete with private baths.
100 Years Ago - January, 1925
- Floyd Teeter is the champion rabbit hunter of the vicinity. Monday, he killed 79 rabbits.
- The residents of Towner organized the Towner Community Health Club Association as a scheme to have a community physician.
