The Kiowa County Economic Development  Foundation sponsored a contest for the best slogan/motto for Kiowa County to be used in the brochure being planned.  A $100 savings bond to the person for submitting the winning entry.


25 years


January 24, 1991


Rod Johnson ASCS Update: If you farm any land that was laying idle and not planted to a crop between 1981 & 1985, it is considered  "sodbusting" and there is severe penalties for doing so.


40 years


January 16, 1976


Brenda Rehfeld attended the National Western Stock Show to take up her duties as the 1976 Colorado Angus Queen. Duties would include being hostess for the National Angus Brunch and handing out award ribbons during the angus show at the National Western

The Foster Lumber Co. announced the company would be closing its Eads yards , February 5 after doing more than 50 years of business in Eads. The closing reflects the policy change to locate in larger more faster growing areas may earn an affiliate commission if you purchase products or services through links in an article.
